The Cow

There’s a cow in the hotel reception.

Not just an ordinary cow.  It has a bridle and racing saddle.  Its number displayed on the blanket is ‘1’.  There is a jockey sat on its back.  It has been there all week.

Every time I pass it I want to point and shout "There’s a cow in the hotel reception".  But nobody else seems to see it.  Everyone walks past, pointedly ignoring it.  Maybe it’s the Guiness?  But it’s still there in the morning.

So yesterday I could take no more.  I asked the receptionist, "Why is there a cow in reception?".

"Cow?  Oh, that!  It was a part of an art exhibition of all sorts of life-size cows.  We bought that one because it was a racing cow."

OK.  That makes sense.
