Somedays everything comes together just right…

And then there are days like yesterday…

Number one sprog has her AS exam results due, so we arranged to meet her at the school gates at 11:00.  She was there, taught as a violin string, waiting for us before she went in to see the results.

She opened the envelope.  A fail, a D a C and a surprise A in psychology.  The bottom lip started to tremble, then the floodgates opened.  We sat in an empty classroom for a quarter of an hour till she could face her friends.  I wasn’t sure what this was all about.  Music Tech she knew was her weakest subject, and was prepared to drop it if she didn’t do that well.  So why the tears?

Eventually we discover that Bath University wants at least 3 C’s, and Bath is where *sigh* Steve the Wimp is.  I reassure her she is motivated, she’s bright, and she’s capable of that.

So she tried to be bright with her friends outside and then off to a ‘celebratory lunch’ at a Thai restaurant.  They have a buffet.  We explained that #1 is a vegan, and therefore cannot eat egg or milk.  He points to the chicken curry.  "That doesn’t have egg in."  *shakes head*

We drop #1 off at wimp-boy’s house, because he’s sick.  Not too sick to answer the door, I noted.

Then off to Tesco’s.  #2 sprog bought a £ 7.97 PC game with the remainder of his pocket money.  When we got home we noticed it was actually £27.97.  Did he still want it and give us his pocket money next month?  He was not happy, but OK then.  As I installed it I noticed it is an on-line game only.  £9.00 per month.  Fortunately Tesco were very good about it, and #2 got his money back.

Finally I jumped on the bike to post #2’s latest Ebay sales.  I have a screw through my back tyre and out the side wall.  Some days it’s not worth getting up.
